Student iPads should come home with students the day before a predicted weather event. If there is a likelihood of a school cancellation, students will bring their iPads home with them. The iPads should be fully charged when they come home.
Teachers will provide ZOOM links so students can join their classroom meetings.
ZOOM is accessible from the iPads, by clicking on the link the teacher provides. Students know to look for the link in Google Classroom. They only need to 'Join a Meeting', they do not need to log in.
Volume controls are on the side of the iPad, indicated by the + and - buttons.
Hints for a more successful ZOOM meeting:
* Try to find a quiet spot, without too many distractions.
* It is possible to hang a sheet, or fabric behind where your student is sitting, to create a less distracting space.
*Turn off nearby TVs or Radios, as the microphones pick up background noise.
*Teachers may ask students to 'mute' their microphones at times. Students should be familiar with that process, but younger students may need help.
