Your PCPA In Action!

Helping to Fund the Birthday Books Program!

When Principal Manjourides approached the PCPA to help fund his Birthday Books program, we jumped at the chance! Every child at Pond Cove school is given the opportunity to come down to pick out a brand new book to celebrate their birthday - and get to spend some one-on-one time with their Principals.

We used a grant to fund the project last year - and after seeing how widely loved this program is - made it a line item in our budget for this year. We are also able to use the Scholastic dollars we raise at the Book Fair to help fund the initiative - so every purchase you make there helps our students twice!

Let's Care for Our Air at Pond Cove!

Did you know it's a myth that turning your car off and on uses more gas than idling (as long as you're idling for more than 10 seconds)?!

At Pond Cove and Cape Elizabeth Middle School we're encouraging parents to turn their cars off at pick-up to save gas, protect the air, and teach our kids about mindful resource use!

It's also the law: in Maine, engines are prohibited to idle for more than 10 minutes as long as it's above 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Because we want to give all parents the opportunity to attend Pond Cove Parents Association meetings, we will continue to alternate meeting times – morning meeting one month, evening meeting the next month. Morning meetings will be held in the Pond Cove Cafetorium.
Evening meetings will be held in the Pond Cove Library Learning Commons.
