The PCPA needs you!
We have are in desperate need of a treasurer 
for the coming school year.

This would be a couple of hours per month commitment and a PCPA Board Officer position.
The Treasurer has direct and regular contact with the accountant. The financials are all tracked
using QuickBooks online and the current treasurer is willing to stay on until the end of October
to help with the transition. If you have an experience or would like to learn some entry level accounting we would LOVE to have you help us.

SPRING GARDENING ASSISTANTS

The Pond Cove 2nd grade team is looking for volunteers with gardening experience to work with teachers and students on planting projects. Activities include; advising teachers on best gardening practices and helping students transplant seedlings to raised beds. FINAL VOLUNTEER ORIENTATON SESSION!

The final volunteer orientation session of the 2017-2018 school year is scheduled for Thursday April 26th at 5:30pm. Attending an orientation session is an integral part of our volunteer registration procedure. Those who are unable to attend this final session will be unable to complete their registration requirements for this school year.

CLYNK for Schools Recycling Challenge Results!

Pond Cove Elementary School came in 4th place in the Challenge, by recycling an impressive 14,810 containers! Thanks to Hannaford for the .50¢ match on every dollar
we raised during the challenge period - and HUGE thanks to everyone who
contributed all those bottles and cans!

Hannaford Grocery Card Fundraiser
 
26 Cape families took part in the April Hannaford program - thank you!!
The schools earned $352.50 for outdoor education programs! The next due date is May 3rd. Now is a great time to get involved - it is a free, no-cost fundraiser that goes through the SUMMER too!! Send in a check with your filled out form to the Pond Cove front office and you will receive a Hannaford grocery card for the full amount of your check. Hannaford gives the schools 5% of every dollar loaded onto your card. You decide to which grade's outdoor fund your 5% gets allocated or you may choose to allocate funds to teacher grants. Help send Cape Robotics to Worlds!

At the state competition on March 3rd, our Cape Robotics teams performed very well. The middle school team 56G (Evan Gebhart, Carter Merriam, Matthew Leighton and Matthew Zimmerman) won the Middle School Excellence Award and the high school team 56C (Nathan Labrie, Caleb Weinstein-Zenner, Ryan Collins and Oliver Kraft) won the Design Award. Both teams secured their spots in the 2018 VEX Robotics Worlds Tournament in Kentucky this April! Lauren Abrahamsen will also join Team 56C for the competition. Please consider a tax deductible donation to help send our high school and middle school teams to the Worlds by either mailing a check payable to: CEHS for the Robotics Team to Mr. Evan Thayer at 345 Ocean House Road or by donating on our GoFundMe page.

Come learn how to run a 5K Road Race and raise money for Cape Schools.

The current Cape Challenge administrators are looking for people to learn the ropes of running the race, so that others can run the race! Planning is currently underway. If you have interest in sponsorships, logistics, volunteer recruiting, or raffle coordination, our current race committees are happy to show you the ropes in hopes that the race will be continued for many years to come!

Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation alumni committee is in the process of building an online, secure directory of CEHS alumni.

Because we want to give all parents the opportunity to attend 
Pond Cove Parents Association meetings, we will continue to alternate
meeting times – morning meeting one month, evening meeting the next month.  Morning meetings will be in the conference room of Thomas Memorial Library.

Evening meetings will be in the Pond Cove Library Learning Commons.
