Dear Pond Cove Families,
I would like to sincerely thank the PCPA, and the Pond Cove staff and students for making the Scholastic Book Fair and Book Swap a huge success this year. The fair and the swap both provided wonderful literature for our students. The Book Fair sales raised $1187 for charity and proceeds are being used to purchase 147 books for the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital!
The students are very excited about this accomplishment. Genevieve Carignan, a fourth grader in Mrs. Bucci’s class, decided to do some writing this morning about the fundraising efforts. I have included her message below.
We Reached Our Goal
By: Genevieve Carignan
Last week we had our book fair. If we reached our goal the vice and head principal would have to dress up like cowboys. And guess what? We reached even more than $500. So now Mrs. Forrey-Pettit and Mr. Manjourides are going to dress up like cowboys at lunch and sing cowboy songs. I am very excited! I bet it will be really funny.
Mrs. Forrey-Pettit and I will be performing next week during lunch periods. Have a wonderful weekend. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have.
