Principal's Notes
Week of May 6, 2019

Dear Pond Cove Families,

I am writing to remind you all of the many activities scheduled for this week at Pond Cove. We feel fortunate to offer these opportunities for our students.

We are excited for two very special upcoming evenings. Our grade two musical performance will be held on the evening of Tuesday, May 7 at 6:00 p.m. and our grade one performance is scheduled for May 9 at 6:00 p.m. I would like to thank grade 1 and 2 students, as well as Rebecca Bean, our amazing music teacher, for making these events a reality.

Pond Cove students from kindergarten to fourth grade are excited to welcome award-winning illustrator and author Zachariah Ohora on May 6th—8th. Zachariah will present to students in the media center all three days, and is sure to inspire all of us. HUGE THANKS to PCPA for making smaller, more intimate presentations possible by funding a longer visit. Zachariah’s books are available for purchase (deadline extended to Wednesday), and 20% of proceeds will come back to benefit Pond Cove School.

Please also note that National Walk or Bike to School Day will be on Wednesday, May 8. If your child will be walking or biking to school, I encourage you to review safety procedures with them.
