Welcome to week twenty-three of the 2018-2019 school year. As I walk through the hallways and visit classrooms at Pond Cove this morning, I am proud to be a member of this school community. Our students have continued to advance their academic skills while further developing into respectful, responsible, and safe citizens. It is always amazing to follow the rapid progress of elementary age students.
Although spring is rapidly approaching, we still have a few months of winter weather ahead of us. It is common for large puddles to form on our playground during significant rain or snow melting. When these conditions occur, students often find themselves with wet feet even if they have changed into boots. I encourage all students to keep a few extra pairs of socks in the bottom of their backpacks every day. This will ensure that they are comfortable for the afternoon and will reduce the number of students visiting the nurse’s office.
Please note that we will be donating all items in our lost and found collection at the end of the day on Friday, February 15. If your child is missing any clothing, stop in and take a look.
I hope you all have a wonderful winter break.
