Wear Green, Give Green!

Let's show our community spirit and all wear a GREEN item of clothing on Friday, September 15th. We want to come together as one community and show our support for those affected by recent hurricanes, earthquakes, and fires. If you'd like to, you may also give green by making a financial donation to the American Red Cross. Click here for full details.

 
 

Say Cheese on September 19th!

Pond Cove's picture day is scheduled for next Tuesday the 19th. Order forms should be coming home either today or tomorrow. You can order online or send the form in with your student. If you order online you will need this code Q3WCC3JL and the company name is Geskus. You will also need to print the confirmation and send that with your child on Picture Day.

Welcome back packets should have gone home in your student's back pack mail, and we are working to replenish the classroom bins. There are always plenty of grade specific bags available in the front lobby - so let's make this our best year of CLYNKing yet! You Shop, Amazon Gives!


Raise money for you child's school without spending an extra cent! PCPA is an approved charity for Amazon Smile! This program donates .5% of eligible purchases (typically those items sold and shipped by Amazon) to PCPA. Hannaford Grocery Card Fundraiser

Do you regularly shop at Hannaford?? Here is your chance to participate in an easy, no-cost fundraiser that significantly reduces your child's class's tuition for their 6th grade Chewonki experience! It's free and so easy!! All you need to do is send in a check with your filled out form to the PC front office and you will receive a Hannaford grocery card for the full amount of your check. Hannaford gives the MSPA 5% of every dollar loaded onto your card. You decide to which grade's outdoor fund your 5% gets allocated. We truly appreciate your collection efforts - but please make sure to cut along the dotted line! It saves many volunteer hours if we don't have to trim out the Box Tops before

Cape Elizabeth Bike Rodeo!

 

This event will be held on Saturday, September 16 from 4 – 6pm at the Cape Elizabeth Community Service back parking lot. There will be a free bike and helmet safety check, and a simulated road safety course. You can download the event flyer here.

 
  

Register for Tri By The Sea!

Remember to register for the Tri By The Sea! Cape Community Services is pleased to present Southern Maine's second annual youth triathlon on Sunday, September 17th. All three legs of the event will be held at the HS Campus, Richards Community Pool and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Youth age 7 – 15 are encouraged to participate. Lots of volunteers will be needed, and family and friends are invited to cheer on the athletes. Click here for complete event registration details.

 
  

Pumpkin Patch by the Sea

Alewive's Brook Farm is excited to announce another great expansion to the farm, this Fall we will unveil our newest endeavor, Pumpkin Patch by the Sea. We will offer a wonderful family adventure during the fall weekends, beginning September 30th. Fun farm games will include a Corn Maze, Pumpkin Bowling, Pumpkin Tic-Tac-Toe, Roller Racing, and a Pick Your own Pumpkin Patch. See website for full details - and mention you saw this on the PCPA newsletter using the password FUNTASTIC and you'll save a dollar off each child's admission!

 
  

Cape Volleyball Car Wash Event!

 

Cape Elizabeth Volleyball Boosters is gearing up for our annual fundraising car wash event! The team will be happy to wash your car on Saturday, September 23 at two convenient locations. We will be at both Bothel's and the Cape Service Station from 10:30 to 1:30. Drive on over and support Cape Volleyball! See you then! 

 
  

CEEF "Laugh for Education!" with Bob Marley

 

The Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation (CEEF) will host New England's King of Comedy, comedian Bob Marley, on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 7 PM at the Cape Elizabeth High School Auditorium. Tickets on sale now at Eventbrite.com!

Meet your PCPA Board Members

 
  

Jennifer Pollick, PCPA President

First and foremost I am mom to Isabelle a fourth grader who keeps me on and my husband on our toes at all times. She's a busy girl. In addition to my mom duties I also work full-time as a museum educator and have my own business as well. I love being part of the PCPA Board, my only regret is getting started so late in my Pond Cove stay. Being President (or Co-President) of the PCPA has been one of the most rewarding experiences. It's a challenge as any commitment can be but I have seen the PCPA do some amazing things and selfishly I get to say "I was part of that!" There's nothing like being able to help the teachers, students and Cape Elizabeth community. And I am grateful to be part of it along with my fellow PCPA board members and extensive, dedicated volunteer force.

 
 

Because we want to give all parents the opportunity to attend 
Pond Cove Parents Association meetings, we will continue to alternate
meeting times – morning meeting one month, evening meeting the next month.  Morning meetings will be in the conference room of Thomas Memorial Library.

Evening meetings will be in the Pond Cove Library Learning Commons.
