Hannaford Grocery Card Fundraiser

June's grocery card reloads earned $421 for outdoor education with 24 families participating! Hannaford gives the MSPA 5% of every dollar loaded onto a Hannaford Grocery Card. You decide to which grade's outdoor fund your 5% gets allocated. Money earned primarily reduces per-student tuition for your child's 6th grade Chewonki experience. Download a sign up form here and and participate over the summer by sending in post-dated checks to the PC front office before the last day of school. Due dates/card reload dates are July 12th and August 9th. The MSPA will send you a new card and you can reload your same card every month by simply sending in a check by each month's due date. For questions please email Sarah Bischoff at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. See here how your child's Chewonki fundraising is going.

The PCPA In Action!

Arts Day is one of the most exciting and dynamic days of the school year, when kids spend the entire day having fun, getting messy, and learning about art from an incredible group of volunteer visiting artists, and this year was a great success. The morning began with student musicians performing in the hallways as kids arrived at school. Then more than 30 visiting artists from the greater Portland area (including some Pond Cove parents) donated their time to the school for morning workshops that ranged from dance to painting and jewelry making, theater set design, and papier-mâché sculpture… the list goes on. There was also an all-school assembly in the afternoon featuring magician Jason Purdy. Arts Day has been funded by the PCPA for many years.

(Pictured: Frank Stella-inspired Collaborative Art project guided by Kristine Biegel of The Creative Child and Arts Program and created by Miss Kieran's class.)

Because we want to give all parents the opportunity to attend Pond Cove Parents Association meetings, we will continue to alternate meeting times – morning meeting one month, evening meeting the next month.  Morning meetings will be in the conference room of Thomas Memorial Library.  Evening meetings will be
in the Pond Cove Library Learning Commons.
