Open Positions:

  • PCPA Co-President
    • Attend monthly PCPA meetings and work with PCPA Co-President,
      Vice President and Secretary to determine Meeting Agendas.
    • Work with the rest of the Board to determine dates of programs and events.
    • Work with Co-President and Vice-President to set priorities for PCPA.
    • Co-President is a team effort with your fellow Co-President and all of the
      Board members
    • 2 year term.
  • PCPA Secretary
    • Attend monthly PCPA meetings and record written record of meeting.
      Personal laptop is helpful but not essential.
    • Type up minutes. Send minutes via e-mail to PCPA officers for review.
      Any changes to minutes will be sent back to the secretary.
    • Once minutes have been approved and voted on, they are sent to the
      web coordinator for posting on the PCPA website.
    • Approximate number of hours each month is 2-3.
    • 2 year term.

Kindergarten Registration Is Open!

Pond Cove accepting kindergarten registrations for 2017-18 school year

Parents planning to send their children to kindergarten at Pond Cove School
are asked to call the office, 207-799-7339 to register. Children who will be 
5 years old
on Oct. 15, 2017 are eligible.

Parents of children attending kindergarten at other schools also should notify the office if their children will attend first grade in the Cape schools next year.

Volunteer Registration

  

Information regarding registration for new and returning Cape Elizabeth School Volunteers can be found on the Volunteer Webpage. Information includes procedures as well as dates and times for volunteer orientation sessions that have been scheduled through December. Please note that all sessions have been scheduled for the Community Center.  

Orientation sessions run from 9:15 - 10:15 am unless otherwise noted.

You Shop, Amazon Gives!
Raise money for you child's school without spending an extra cent! PCPA is an approved charity for Amazon Smile!  This program donates .5% of eligible purchases (typically those items sold and shipped by Amazon) to PCPA. Hannaford Grocery Card Fundraiser

March's grocery card reloads earned $465 for outdoor education with 26 families participating! Hannaford gives the MSPA 5% of every dollar loaded onto a Hannaford Grocery Card.  You decide to which grade's outdoor fund your 5% gets allocated. Money earned primarily reduces per-student tuition for your child's 6th grade Chewonki experience. Approximately $12,000 is needed by 6th grade to offset the cost of Chewonki tuition.  Download a sign up form here and send your check in to the PC front office by the next due date (April 5th) and the MSPA will mail you a grocery card which will be loaded with the full amount of your check. Reload your same card every month through the MSPA by simply sending in a check by each month's due date. The Maine Recycles Championship
We are participating in something BIG! The Maine Recycles Championship 2017 has begun and it will continue on through April 24, 2017.  Every year, CLYNK and Hannaford team up to reward schools that make the biggest recycling impact.  The Maine Recycles Championship is one of the easiest and most effective fundraising contests for schools in Maine!  For every dollar earned in bottle returns, Hannaford adds $.50.  Supporters simply fill the bags with bottles and cans, and drop them at Hannaford. The returnables are processed and every cent goes directly to our school. Plus, top performing schools earn cash prizes. CLYNK will award the 1st Place school with $500!  This is on top of the money that Hannaford will donate.

There are bags in every single classroom at the MS and PC as well as in the front lobby of each school so ask your child to bring some home. Cape Elizabeth Little League's 2017 Season!

Registration for the 2017 Cape Elizabeth Little League Season is still open for T-Ball and all levels of Baseball and Softball. Please visit the CELL website at http://www.cape-ll.com/ for more information or register directly at https://www.cape-ll.com/eregister.php

During the registration process, parents also will have an opportunity to sign up to be coaches and assistant coaches. As in the past, we always are in need of additional help for our younger players (T-Ball, A, AA and 7-8 Softball). If you're concerned about not having coaching experience, don't worry! There is a fantastic and free coaching clinic in March for anyone that wants to pick up some tips (information is below).

The key information and dates for March include:

  • Registration (ongoing)
  • Baseball and Softball clinics through Community Services
  • Saturday, March 18th:  Baseball Assessments for AA, 9/10 (AAA), and 11/12 (Majors)
  • Monday/Tuesday, March 27th and 28th:  Big Al's Coaching Clinic in the Riverton School in Portland; attendance is free!

CEHS Beach Towel Fund Raiser

Help support CEHS Project Graduation. Project Graduation aims to keep our high school graduates safe and chemical free as they celebrate this life milestone. The safety of this night is a gift to the graduates. Previous classes have danced abroad Casco Bay Lines, laughed at comedy clubs and played laser tag.


The maroon towel (dimension 30 by 60 inches) has a gold CE logo in the middle and is made of 100% cotton and costs $20.00  We will take orders until March 31th to ensure a mid-April delivery so you have them for April Break. Call For Professionals: CEMS Career Conversations

The CEMS Guidance Department is pleased to announce the launch of a new Career Conversation Series at CEMS. If you are willing to engage 7th and 8th grade students in conversations about your career, your career path, and the nature of the work you and those around you do then this opportunity could be for you. All conversations will take place in April and May from 12:55-1:35. Your total time commitment with arrival (12:30) and departure (1:45) will be less than 1.5 hours. Community Services

Mar 22 - Boost your child's confidence and safety knowledge when Home Alone. Geared toward 4th - 6th Graders.

Registration for the following programs begins online on March 26th at 8pm and in person on March 27th at 8am –  however they start the first week of April so register as soon as possible if interested:

Beginners Youth Group Guitar 3rd - 8th Graders. beginning on March 29th at 4:00 pm.

Cape Chefs, Winter Goodies & Giving starts Tuesdays April 4th for 2nd - 4th graders.
 

Get Involved!

  

What is the PCPA and what does it do? All parents and guardians of Pond Cove students are automatically members of the Pond Cove Parents Association. Our organization raises funds for teacher grants within the school. In the past the PCPA has funded things such as a water bottle filling station for Pond Cove students and staff, Visiting Artists for each grade level, Lego technical kits for the classroom, class trips to see performances, and much more.  We also host fun community-building events throughout the year including Movie Nights, Harvest Festival, Beach Bingo, Craft Night, and the Cape Challenge. In other words, every dollar you donate and every minute you volunteer, you are a part of helping "enrich, support and enhance the social and learning environment of Pond Cove students."

Because we want to give all parents the opportunity to attend Pond Cove Parents Association meetings, we will continue to alternate meeting times (morning meeting one month, evening meeting the next month).  Morning meetings will be in the conference room of Thomas Memorial Library.  Evening meetings will be in the Pond Cove Library Learning Commons.
